Artist Statement

Tree Translations is a title I have used for exhibitions of recent work which seek to show trees in ways not shown before. The images are based on my relationships with the trees near my home. I have learned about them by close attention and a desire to express the unique qualities of those trees. My appreciation for trees and their gifts (fire, oxygen, rain, soil sustenance and food) continues to grow.

Artist Bio

Ms. Lackey-Zachmann is retired after a career of teaching art at the college level for many years.    She is an exhibition coordinator and founding member of Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC.   For the past few years, she has visually explored making digital images, three-dimensionally designed paintings, printmaking, and videography.
