Don Green - Band with Photos

Lea Lackey-Zachmann - Cell Plant

Artworks Gallery presents a two-person exhibit with wood sculpture by Don Green and acrylic paintings and digital prints by Lea Lackey-Zachmann.

Don Green is showing large sculpture, all made of wood, with some pieces using steel as a frame a la Herbert Ferber. Green is interested in the natural qualities of different woods and in letting the wood suggest what it wants to be. Green is also including a wall piece, 5' x 6', using natural wood scraps in a macrame style relief extending off the wall 6-8".
Green has an Advertising and Design degree from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Lea Lackey-Zachmann is showing large abstract acrylic paintings and digital prints which explore the idea of "In the River", a universal process of transformation and relationships between physical forms, with all matter in the process of becoming something else.
Lackey-Zachmann has a BA from Winthrop University in Art and Art Education, and a MFA from UNC-G in Painting with a minor in Art History.

Receptions are the First Friday evening of every month with the W-S Arts District "Gallery Hop".

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
